There will be a candidate selection. Applicants may submit their request for auditions via online form indicating a link to an open youtube or vimeo video and a short biography. Accepted candidates will participate in a training class and repertoire from the choreographers, improvisation lab. Attendees shall prepare a ballet/neoclassical/contemporary solo.

EBB Junior Ballet
EBB Junior is a complete, international and pioneer platform for young artists. Its mission is to discover and support talent, boost their creativity and improvement through stage practice opportunities. EBB Junior is characterized by being a place where dancers enjoy the art of dancing to the fullest through the active search for artistic excellence. 45 artists from different countries around the world are in our BOX a minimum of one and a maximum of three years learning directly from different international choreographers currently in the dance scene. Our main objective is to facilitate their employability in the dance field for all our artists.

Elephant in the Black Box offers annual scholarships through a comprehensive assessment of each individual case. The organization will assess the real economic needs of the dancer, his/her artistic abilities and his/her commitment of professional artistic development hand in hand with the training team of Elephant in the Black Box.
Jean-Philippe Dury is the artistic leader and choreographer of Elephant in the Black Box. Dury has been a dancer of the Paris Opera Ballet, Ballets de Monte Carlo, Spanish’ Compañía Nacional de Danza, and Les Grands Ballets de Montreal. He created more than 20 works and has been awarded as an artist including Talent Madrid in 2013, Taglioni European Ballet Awards Berlin in 2014 or the Simón Bolívar Award from UNESCO for the best dance career. As a guest choreographer, Dury has been invited to create for Leipzig Opera Ballet, Basel Ballet, Paris Dury Opera Ballet or Ilicite Company.
Marco Blázquez has danced for relevant companies such as the NDT II and Staatstheater Mainz. Marco has worked with the most prestigious choreographers on the international dance scene, including Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, Johan Inger, Paul Lightfoot, Sol León, Alexander Ekman, and Nacho Duato, among others. As a result of his artistic journey, Marco creates choreographies internationally for companies, educational centers, and his own productions. His work is characterized by the physical intensity of his language from which he tackles issues of political, social and human relevance.
Wody Santana has danced for the main companies in Brazil, Ballet del Teatro Guaíra, Cisne Negro Compañía de Danza & Ballet de la Ciudad de São Paulo. Currently, he is stablished in Madrid and collaborates with Elephant in the Black Box Company, Carmelo Segura Dance Company, and Tok’Art (Portugal).
Luciana Croatto trained at the Theater Colon School in Buenos Aires and the Rudra Bejart International School in Lausanne. She has a solid career as a soloist dancer and freelancer at the Bejart Ballet Lausanne, LaMov, and the young Luxembourg ballet working for well-known choreographers including Maurice Bèjart, Itzik Galili, Antonio Ruz, Henrique Rodovalho, Jêrome Bel, Olga Cobos, etc.

EBB Dance Company new production 2019

EBB Dance Company seeks freelance soloist dancers for a new production with Elephant in the Black Box including the works of Marco Goecke, Jean-Philippe Dury and a new creation by Spanish choreographer Marco Blázquez.
Dancers must be available for rehearsals from the 24 June until the 2 August 2019 and available to attend performances from September 2019 until March 2020. The exact dates will be given to accepted candidates.

WHO CAN ATTEND?
Freelance male and femaile dancers with a strong classical and contemporary technique capable of performing a variety of repertoire including contemporary, classical and neo-classical. Previous 2-year experience in professional dance companies. Dancers must be older than 23 years old.
Candidates shall be legally allowed to work in Spain.
